Tanzanian club Simba, one of the eight teams that will take part in the African Football League (AFL) have the highest number of players featuring for national teams in the on-going 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Four of the players from Simba will feature for Tanzania against Algeria. They include defender Kennedy Juma, midfielder Mzamiru Yassin, strikers Kibu Denis and John Bosco.
Another Simba player defender Henock Inonga has been selected to play for the Democratic Republic of Congo in their match against Sudan.
Al-Ahly another club that will feature in the inaugural AFL tournament have four of their players in the Egyptian national team that is scheduled to take on Ethiopia in another 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
They include-goalkeeper Mohamed El Shennawy, defenders Mohammed Hany. Mohammed Abdelmonem and midfielder Marwan Attia.
Waydad Casablanca have contributed two players to the Moroccan squad that will play Liberia. They include goalkeeper Youssef El Motie and defender Yahya Attiatallah.
Enyimba has one player in the Nigeria Super Eagles squad that will face Sao Tome and Principe.
He is goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo. Ojo was an unused substitute in June during Nigeria’s 3-2 win over Sierra Leone.
T.P Mazembe also have one player in the Democratic Republic of Congo squad that is to face Sudan. He is goalkeeper Baggio Siadi.
